Airborne Thunderbolt
My first road bike, which I witnessed being built yesterday by Adam.
Couldn't ride it on the night, even a short 1.4 mile trip back to Hinchley Wood, due to the spookily coincidental thunderbolts (and consequential flooding in Thames Ditton).
It's a thing of beauty, and flies along like its name suggests.
Had a couple of cleatercations on my maiden voyage: once at Raynes Park while riding on the pavement and slowing to avoid a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Whoops, I'm still attached to the bike! Released myself gracelessly, but just before being introduced to the pavement. Close one.
Then, up in Tooting, some inconsiderate git in an SUV refused to give me space, and I had to stop (and land on a parked car, replete with driver. "Soz!", I proffer, before leaving the scene. I caught up with the SUV git, not much further up the heavily traffic-laden road, and hurled obscenities and saliva in his general direction before making good my escape. No stopping now, not in the market for repercussions today.
Now, at work, problems all solved, I'm thinking it's time to head home and get on with some serious R&R for a few hours, then it's Monday all over again. Lots of traders moving here from France, so it's going to be stressful in the best case scenario.
